PURPOSE OF THE REPORT
Last year, student organizations dedicated to serving the queer community at Georgetown University joined together to address questions to GUSA presidential and vice presidential campaigns in order to gage their ability to supporting and uplifting LGBTQ+ students through their GUSA tenure. We decided to issue the report for this upcoming election in order to ensure all campaigns demonstrate interest in working with queer students and organizations on campus, as well as enacting policies to improve the wellbeing of the LGBTQ+ community.

Oftentimes, GUSA candidates run on policies and promises that can not be fulfilled due to the bureaucratic structures and guidelines placed on elected GUSA members and policy teams. With that being said, it is imperative that GUSA candidates run on practical, tangible, and concrete policies that aim to support the LGBTQ+ community through their platform as GUSA executives. We took each candidate’s ideas, campaign goals, and visions into account, and we made the effort to judge which campaign will be able to fulfill their responsibilities and mission to uplift the voices of queer students, faculty, and staff at Georgetown.
